For most companies the IT systems are the most expensive outlay, and ongoing maintenance and support can be an additional expense.

For a fixed monthly cost we can provide you with all your IT hardware on an ongoing rental basis, including on-site support and maintenance. Costs are calculated on a per-machine basis with discounts available if you require several PCs.

All quotations are calculated to individual requirements, but example costs follow.

Servers

For a standard X-series server with RAID (purchase price £999) an example cost would be:

Installation and setup:   £200
Monthly rental:   £100

Please note that on-site warranty and support is provided inclusive of the rental cost.

Workstations

For a standard PC (specs may vary but will be the best deal available at the start of the contract) the following costs are likely to apply:

Installation and setup:   £100
License for Windows XP Professional:   £100
Trend Micro Internet Security 12-month subscription:   £50
Monthly rental:   £50

The system will as standard be supplied with XP Professional with Service Pack 2, Trend Micro PC-Cillin Internet Security, Windows Defender anti-spyware and Nero Express CD/DVD burning software.

Additional software:

Microsoft Office 2003 Professional:   £219
Upgrade to full version of Nero Burning ROM 7:   £49

Please note that software licenses must be purchased on a per-machine basis and may not be rented. If replacing an old or failed PC it may be possible to transfer the licence to the new PC if the software versions are the same, please contact us for details.

Option to buy

We also supply PCs and laptops on an "option to buy" scheme. Again costs are calculated to individual requirements, but a typical payment schedule would be as follows (please note these are hardware costs only, software not included):

• £100 deposit (payable on delivery)
• 10 monthly payments of £60
• One final payment of £75

Once the final payment is received you own the hardware.

Contract terms

Minimum rental term is 18 months (24 months for servers), after which you may:

1. Upgrade the hardware and begin a new contract. Software licenses will be transferred to the new hardware where applicable.
2. End the contract and return the hardware (a fee may be applicable)

For option to buy schemes the minimum rental term is 3 months, after which you may return the hardware at any time and end the agreement (provided the hardware is in resaleable condition).

Your responsibilities

You must maintain anti-virus software at all times. We recommend Trend Micro PC-Cillin Internet Security and supply this with a 12-month subscription by default, but if you have another anti-virus system we can install this for you. Any support incidents resulting from a virus infection caused by failure to maintain anti-virus software may result in a call-out charge.

You must ensure you have adequate buildings and contents insurance. In the event of fire, theft etc resulting in the loss of hardware owned by Squirrel Solutions you will be responsible for its replacement. Terms and conditions apply; full details will be provided before any contract is commenced.
