One of the great things about the Web is its open philosophy - no matter what system you use, you can still access the information.

Recently however there has been a trend towards proprietary HTML, readable only by certain browsers. It probably comes as no suprise that Microsoft are the worst offenders, however they are not alone.

A small group of people became so annoyed by this that they created DOGME 00, the Vow of Web Chastity. There are some very valid points in this, however it is a bit extreme. See our views on this.

Would you stop someone coming into your shop simply because they owned a different make of mobile phone, or a different brand of jeans?
